Description

The PCI Express 3rd generation (PCIe3) 4 x8 SAS Port Adapter is a RAID SAS adapter designed for high-performance and high-density serial attached SCSI (SAS) applications. Available in short-form factor, it comes in variations: FC EL65 and FC EJ10 are full-height adapters, while FC EL60 and FC EJ11 are low-profile adapters.

This adapter facilitates the attachment of SAS DVD or SAS tape through four mini SAS high-density (HD) x4 connectors, allowing for various narrow and wide-port configurations. However, SAS tape attachment is limited to a single adapter configuration and cannot be combined with SAS disk on the same adapter. Notably, the adapter lacks write cache.

Each adapter can accommodate a maximum of four DVD or tape drives, using either four AE1 cables (FC ECBY) or four YE1 cables (ECBZ) to connect them. Externally attached devices, particularly SAS tape devices, operate at a maximum data rate of 6 Gbps.
